“Valkyrie, this is Six. Status report. Have you reached the target?”
Valkyrie stood in the middle of a bustling city street, The target compound was hidden in plain sight, occupying three city blocks downtown camouflaged as an office complex with reinforced walls and underground labs.
She had been prepping her breach when something unexpected happened. Her entire body suddenly glowed as her height surged upward, until she loomed hundreds of feet tall over the skyline like a living colossus.
Valkyrie smiled, wide and teasing. The sudden power hit her like a rush. She flexed her fingers, feeling the sheer scale of it, and a smirk tugged at her lips. Everything below looked so… insignificant.
She raised one massive boot over the central cluster of buildings. The tread alone could eclipse the entire compound.
She let her foot drop. The impact thundered through the city like a bomb. Concrete and steel crumpled instantly under her weight, the entire target area vanishing in a single, casual stomp. Shockwaves rippled outward, shattering nearby windows and sending cars and people tumbling. Dust and debris clouded up around her boot like smoke from a cigar.
“Six, this is Valkyrie. Compound neutralized… They never saw it coming. No witnesses…”
The city sprawled beneath her like a toy model. Tiny specks of people scattered in panic, but from up there they barely registered. She shifted her weight, grinding her boot once more just because she could as a warm thrill ran through her.
Valkyrie chuckled under her breath, already lifting her heel again. Ready to begin her sweep of the entire area.
“At least, there won’t be any soon…”
