Shuichi and Kaede found themselves the sole survivors amidst the carnage wrought by Kirumi. The shadow of death hung heavy in the air, a reminder of their lost friends.
The two shrunken students huddled beneath a table, its vast expanse offering a fleeting illusion of safety. Shuichi felt overcome with despair over the situation, his mind reeling from the brutality of their reality. Kaede, ever the beacon of hope, lent her soothing presence, her voice a bright light in the oppressive darkness that threatened to consume his spirit.
However, their moment would be short lived, as a much more blinding light invaded their haven as Kirumi, with a swift and decisive movement, cast aside the table that had been their shield. The sudden exposure to the harsh light felt like a spotlight on the final act of their despairing drama.
Hoping to get them both in one go, Kirumi leaped into the air, intent on crushing the last remnants of an infestation. In that moment, time seemed to slow, the shadow of the Ultimate Maid engulfing them in a dark promise of oblivion.
Seeing the inevitable, the detective mustered all his strength and courage, pushing Kaede away from the descending doom.
Kaede, propelled backwards by Shuichi’s desperate shove, could only watch with tear filled eyes as the boy she held dear was obliterated underfoot with what Kirumi felt was a satisfying crunch.
She tumbled away, her physical wounds paling in comparison to the agony that tore through her heart. The realization hit her like a physical blow – she was alone.
